Whilst the fun and bright neons that are in at the moment make for a great accent nail, whilst at work especially in retail, you can't always get away with bright stand out colours.
For years I have had to tone down the colour/length and style of my nails and quite frankly plan my nail styles around my work contract. Nails are really a great way of expressing your personality and what you are into at the moment - it's like a cramping of my style when i'm told to have bare nails.
For this post I am going to share with you an accent nail idea using some super simple and cheap nail decals. I have combined it with one of my all time favourite pastel colours which are also a big hit for the spring / summer season.

Whilst I don't have the best nails in these shots (due to a DIY gel manicure) I think the idea is really simple, classic and feminine.
Select a subtle colour which won't alert your boss to your fingers & shape nails to a suitable length which won't interfere with your work day - you don't won't to risk breaking one!

I selected OPI's Panda-monium Pink, a go to colour of mine for work purposes ( seen above & available here). It is a lovely shade of lilac & pink which is featured in the Hong Kong Collection.
This colour has a lovely consistency, covers in two coats & dries without shimmer (something which i love in a nail polish these days).
Once I had completed a couple of coats of this colour, I allowed to air dry for a few minutes.
I find waiting for nail polish to dry possibly one of the most irritating things in the world - especially when I decide to paint my nails at night!
But once your nails are on the way to being completely dry, you can begin selecting your nail decals.

DeleteYour nails look perfect on here! So jealous! I always have disasters when painting my nails and the second coat always goes dodgy (: x
ReplyDeleteThankyou. My nails can't cope with more than 2 coats of colour before going all gloopy and funny and I'm always so impatient. I'm going to be doing a post on my nail care kit tomorrow which might help, if you fancy a read!
